Front bearing is making noise. Is that bearing easy to replace? Don’t care about AC , just want the noise gone. Thought maybe remove pulley and go with shorter belt but it doesn’t look like that would work.

After looking at it again, it’s not the AC clutch/pulley. There’s another pulley next to it that’s making the noise. Not sure what that is but looks easy to check

Is that the power steering pump?
Googled it and looks like it might be new pump time. Haven’t noticed any issue with steering yet

If it's the steering pump, and I believe it is, it should have two small lines coming out of it. There also should be a reservoir attached to it with a larger hose.

Steering pumps that get air into them due to low fluid will whine, so it may not be a bearing.

Thanks for the reply plasticseng,
I’m familiar with the whine some pumps can make and I’m not hearing that so much. More of a clicking sound. And only in gear when rpm drops. It’s intermittent also which makes it more difficult to access. I’m going to take the belt off and spin it by hand and see if I can detect anything.

open the fill cap for the power steering reservoir after turning the wheels back and forth a few times. see if there is foam or a lot of bubbles in the fluid. If so lift both front wheels off the ground loosen the fill cap,[do not remove it] turn the wheels by hand not with the steering wheel while car is running back and forth two or three times..this should remove air out of the system.

Definitely worth trying. I’ll update when I’ve looked it over. Been crazy hot in Northern California last several days.
