I can't find anything about this problem in the forums so I though I would start a thread.
I have a 98 Mercury Mountaineer with a 5.0L 302. The problem I am having is when I am using the AC or the heat on vent it will work just fine untill I accelerate then it will switch from the vent to the defrost on it's own. When I stop the acceleration and come to a stop it will switch back to the vents. To me this sounds like a vacuum issue because of it switching on acceleration and going back at idle, but I am not sure where to start troubleshooting. Please post is you have any sugestions at all, I am at a loss.
