AC is blowing cold, but compressor clutch started making rattling noise.

I have a Mercury Mountaineer. The AC is blowing cold. But today the Compressor's clutch began making a loud banging noise. At first I thought I had bent a rod or something. The clutch disc seems to be off balance. Does anyone know if I need to replace the compressor, or can I get by with replacing the clutch or a part of the clutch system?
