AC repair kit.

I have a problem with my Ac. The inlet tube on the evaporater core has broken off. I bought a repair kit that is a tube with a compression fitting. The problem is that the repair tube will not hook up to the accumulator. the instructions say to place filter body over end of evaporator tube as far as possible. I dont have a filter on this truck. Has any one installed this repair kit on there AC. I'm kinda lost.

never installed it the mechanic i talk with about that who is a very good friend informed me that these kits have a bad habit of leaking so i went and purchased one from a junk yard. there not to badly priced and all i did was flush it and use it.

compression fitting- that voilates all the laws of plumbing. High presure would need to be flared

Well, As it would turn out, the inlet tube on the evaporator core broke off flush. Therefore, I had to get a new one. I installed it and the accumulator today, recharged the system with 134 and the air is good and cold. Thanks for the insight in to this. I had my doubts about that compression repair kit also.
