Hello!

I drive through a lot of silt & desert dust & It gets sucked into the AC vent system...

Now, every time I turn on my blower fan for the heater or AC a huge cloud of dust blows into the cabin.

Anyone know if there is a filter for the vent system that I can clean or replace? & if so, where is it located?

Thanks!

No cabin filter :( You can turn the dials to max fan and defrost, spray tons of Lysol or similar product in the intake on the cowl, it will help some. Let the fan run that way for 10-15 minutes after dosing it. Then, turn it to Max A/C, find where the air is being drawn in on the passenger side floorboard, fog some more Lysol in there. Lastly, turn off the blower, spray Lysol down in each individual vent. It will help wash away some of the dirt/dust, and leave you with a fresh scent. :)

I personally always love the face full of snow from when I accidentally leave it on face when I turn it off in the winter ;)

the intakes under the cowl passenger cowl? I usually just take a bug screen and glue or fasten it on with tie-wraps, sometimes take rectangular tupperware roughly the shape of the opening and turn it upside down with a slit on the side for fresh air also. Another step above that is glue scotch-brite pad style mesh to the back side of the cowl vents(botom of windshield). To clean the ducts from dust I just use pressurized air into the vents.

Mainly i would use recirculate in dusty conditions, this keeps the outside air out, along with some filter material on the back of the cowl covers.

Duct cleaning is a process that should be performed quite often to ensure that the air you are breathing in is pure. It helps in increasing the overall indoor quality. Sometimes when your AC unit is producing a bad smell, duct cleaning can clear out the ac vents and hence eliminate the source of bad odor.
