My vehicle will start and idle just fine, as well as drive at a constant speed without a problem, but when I hit the gas it will hesitate and miss a couple times before smoothing back out. In the wonderful world of Explorers, there are several different sensors that control everything, and I will replace them one at a time if I have to, but I am curious as to whether or not anyone else has experienced this, and if so, were you able to pinpoint any specific sensor that caused it?

Many Thanks! :D

How many miles do you have on the spark plugs? Wires?

Have you ever used SeaFoam?

some thing...

I am experiencing the same problem. Upon hitting the gas pedal, the engine stutters a few times, then recovers from the hick-up and the engine runs smoothly again. This also happens sometimes when driving at around 2500 rpm. If RPM are either below or over, depressing the gas pedal does not cause the engine to stutter. It seems that there is some kind of acceleration hole, in which I can depress the gas pedal by around an inch and there is almost no change in speed or acceleration.

Approximately 8k on the wires/plugs

I have never heard of SeaFoam, but I take it that it is a fuel additive?
