I want to lift my '96 Explorer. Right now the plan is to do a torsion twist in the front and either an AAL or shakles in the rear. Are there any advantages or disadvantages with either? Since it will be a 2 inch lift, are there any strength issues with the shackles? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

warrior shackles=WAR153. do a search you will find pick and write ups on everything you can know about them. There basically just longer than youir stock ones so they give you the lift.

Their web page says their only 1.25 inches long. Will that lift the rear end enough to level it out with the 2 inches in the front?

You might have to do both AAL and shackles to match 2" in the front depending on how sagged your rear end is. Shackels will give you about 1.5" in the rear

first off dont xpect to get a full 2 inches in your tt cus it will settle and goin over 2" is not good for your truck
second i did shackles and aal and i love it cus the aal stiffend up the rear and helped me out with all the weight of the subs in the trunk!!!!!]
do both its not that xpensive and took about 3 hours to do!!!
hope that helps

Autozone sells a set of shackles that give you 3 choices (1-3" I think) - I think they are made by superior. They have worked well to take the sag out of my a@@. I wanted to use the Warriors but they didn't give me enough lift.

Warriors are the EXACT same lenght as the last hole on the autozone ones
