Add a leafs & TT setting

I found a place that will build you an add-a leaf for $52 plus $12 shipping. They also told me that they would build me a brand new spring pack with a 2.5" lift for both sides @ $205. This is a four leaf pack for each side with the lift already installed. Why take a chance with the used ones when these are so dang cheap?

Who said anything about using a used AAL? It won't work for you anyway since you have a sport with a monoleaf. To run one you would have to switch to a leaf pack out of a 4 door explorer/mountaineer.

do all Sports have the monoleaf setup? I have a 01 Sport

As far as I know, it would be real easy to check, just go look at the rear end and see if your leaf springs have 1 leaf or 4.

The '01+ 2dr Sports all have multi-leaf springs. The earlier ones have the mono-leaf setup.

I was looking at those on summit racing, and it says they are for a 91-97, will they still fit a 2000?

i put set of 2000 ex 4door leafs on my 2000 ex sport instead of my mono spring,it did not go up but the ride was better.so i did a springover and it whent up 5.5 inch.now i need something for the front

So....Can you use the add a leafs with shackles and raise the torsion bars higher? I have the TT/Shackles lift and would really like just 1 more inch of lift. Is this something I could do?

You can add the add a leafs to the rear, but going more than 2" up front with a torsion twist can lead to some problems with the suspension geometry up front, mainly parts wearing out extremely fast.

I didn't realize you were 2wd, in that case you can crank them up all you want and get maybe 3" total lift out of them, but just be warned that the ride will be really rough, and you probably won't like it.

Thanks for the response...when you say "all you want"...is it going to max out after a certain number of twists? or do I need to be careful how much I turn it,

My rear currently sags just slightly so I wouldn't mind adding an inch to the rear and a half inch in the front....

If I just add 1 leaf, how much lift am I looking at to the rear?

around 3" is where the front maxes out, an AAL will give you about 1" to an 1.5" of lift in the rear.

I was saying that no one would have to buy a used set of springs. I have replaced my stock mono-leaf with a pack off of a four door. I wish that I would have known about this guy that will build them for $205 when I was looking. I was just trying to help.

can i get a link to the guy who builds them for 2.5" lift? thats really a good price.

my 4 door leaf packs were $70 for the pair. if your worried about the age of them just take them apart and rustolleum them. i would imagine adding a leaf would be pretty easy although i'm sure just having 4 door leaf springs raises your towing ability significantly.
