Adding an extra transmission cooler

Hi guys, my 04 V8 4X4 with towing package, has the infamous 5R55W transmission, with no cooler or dipstick, since it's getting older 78,000 miles, I was thinking if could install an extra cooler. The way it's designed I never know the condition or temperature of the fluid. Can you advise?
 






You have 5r55S and it already has a pretty big factory trans cooler so another cooler isnt necessary.
 






Your cooler is sandwiched between your radiator and a/c condensor. You can see it if you remove the plastic panel over your radiator and look down in there.

If you want to monitor trans fluid temp or pretty much anything else that comes out of the sensors on your truck I recommend a scanguage II. Then you can check DTC codes and clear them too.

I normally see temps of 150-170. People who have towed have reported higher temps but still below 190 with OD off.
