Now that I have my new Mounty, it does have a factory tranny cooler, and it is rated for 6500# tow capacity, should I install an additional cooler on conjunction with the factory since I will be towing about 5000#?
I never towed with a automatic and don't want to overheat it.

Thanks,
Kurt

OKay it NEVER hurts to run a cooler on the tranny.

The factory cooler may be adequate, but you can apgrade to a better unit if you tow often.

The most important thing is to monitor the trans fluid tempature, so you can consider adding a gage.

Also the more you tow, the more you should change the fluid and filter in the transmission, diff's, and T case.

Thanks for the idea, I already have the piller mount, I will pick up a tranny gauge.

THings you have to worry about when going from a manual to an automatic.......

The dealer recommends AGAINST synthetic ATF, comments?
