adjusting the kickdow (TV) cable

I couldn't find any search results explaining this, but is it similar to Chevrolet where you push the cable in then push the gas pedal to the floor to let it "rachet" out.

The release button is under the hood on the body of the adjuster. You press on it, then pull. You then step all of the way down on the accelerator pedal, and hear the clicking sound as you have mentioned. It is now adjusted.

Thats what I thought but the procedure in the Transgo A4LD Junior instructions are different.
