I'm preparing to lift my Ex' with a set of new coils and I'm curious as to how the adjustment cams work. I'm trying to decide whether to order a set from 4Wheel parts and put them in when I put the coils in, or just let the alignment folks do it.

I know that there is a clamp to loosen to insert the cams, but do they just slide in to place, then twist to to correct the alignment. If I insert, how do I know at what setting to start at?
Thanks for your help.

I went to put mine in after my 2" spacers and i couldnt get the bolt loose on the clamp and it felt like it might twist off. I'm going to have the alignment shop do that..while they are at it they will give me the correct caster/camber ..instead of me trying to do it and not get the camber right. I would torch them if it wernt for melting the rubber around the ball joints.

Yah just remove the pinch bolt(12 or 13mm 12pt.), jam a fatty flathead screwdriver in the space between where the pinch bolt goes through, then go at the cam with an assortment of screwdrivers, BFH's, and channellocks to get the old one out.

The size alignment cam that you will need depends on how much you lift it and what type of lift you have.

Slide the new cam in or bash it in with a rubber deadblow hammer like I did. Twist around to get proper camber. With the split in the cam facing towards the inside, you will get the most / \ camber. (negative?) With the split facing outside, you will get the most \ / camber. I would recommend getting the proper cams, installing them, then getting it professionally aligned after that, unless of course you're very poor like me and opt for the self-align eyeball method:D

Oh and make sure you tighten the hell outta the pinch bolt after the alignment process is done, especially with oversize tires;)
