Was using the EX for work yesterday. Alot of pulling in and out of shoulder parking. Hills, gravel, ruts. Accelerating hard out of spots into traffic, backing, tight turning. The ABS/traction/auto 4wd system had its work cut out for it. Leaving the last parking spot, I get an ADV TRAC warning saying that it is off. Traction Control was still on (said so in the info). No warnings for the ABS. Drive for 45 min. Shutoff the car. Upon the next start up everything is back to normal.

So what gives. All the weird traction giving the ABS sensors/system fits and it can't figure out whats what. Why doesn't it correct itself until is shut the car off and restart it. Is this a sign that something is going to die on my soon.

I recently replaced a front wheel bearing/hub due to a ABS warning. Bearings were toast. New hub fixed all my ABS issues.

Doesn't it sound like you just inadvertently hit the button?

I thought that might be it. But no amount of fussing with the button did anything. Typically I can push the button while driving and go in and out of AdvTrac. Also when I do hit the button, I do not recall seeing info about the traction control (T/C on info screen).

My understanding is that once the ABS sees an error it will not correct until shut down. Sometimes the ABS will not clear when restarted until the speed is greater than 20 MPH. One of the hubs I replaced on my '05 EB had an issue where intermittently the AdvTrac would disable and the ABS light came on. Seems to have happened when wheel was turned hard and once driving through a deep puddle. The code suggested the wheel that had the hub replaced. I pulled the wheel then removed and reinstalled the sensor. This helped for a little while but would occasionally come back on. I first swapped the sensor cable with the other side. The code followed the cable. I had the old hub still so I replaced cable with the original. WORKED. Now I pull the cables as spares whenever I have to replace the cheap a$$ chino hubs I have to get here.

Good luck.

I still have my old hub. I think I will pull the and sensor and keep it as a back up. So fare the Ex has not thrown any more ABS or ADVTRAC codes. Went and did some light wheeling with it this weekend and it was all good. Even had some wheel slip on a climb and no ABS issues.
