I already have a Pioneer DEH 3300 and like the sound but it lacks bass. This is what I'm looking at getting;

Kenwood KAC 729 amp - 600watts max, 300 bridged
Kenwood KFC W003 - 12" subwoofer, 300 watts nominal

I'm looking for sound quality and trying to keep it fairly cheap - I can do this for $280 CAN (about $180 US)

For the box I want to be able to remove it, any ideas on how to do this. I'm thinking about L brackets and drilling into the box with bolts then sealing around the holes with silicone or something. How to you attach the box to the floor? The box I like is sealed 3/4"mdf stapled and glued and measures 14x14x12, will this work well?

Make sure you listen to that Kenwood sub at the store...I looked at them a while back, and I don't remember it sounding terribly good, but that was a few years ago. They may have changed it. Just my $.02

If I were you I would go with some different subs.
I have heard the new Kenwood subs, and they sound awful. Maybe it is just me, but I do not know anyone with those in their car. Even the guy at the audio store didn't reccomend them. Since you are shooting for lower price subs, go for the new pioneer vccs subs. They are awesome. They sound better than the kenwoods and hit a little harder. That is just my opinion though.

I have 2 12 kenwood tornados running off a kenwood 600W amp. They sound ok. Go to www.justwoofers.com and look under pyramid brand. They have really cheap 1000 watt subs called hyperpros, they have good specs. Later i'm getting 4 of those and going to try and make a custom setup in the back, that might be hard :(

save yourself some money and dont buy pyramid. buy something better instead. guess what happens if you actually run 1000 watts to a pyramid subwoofer? it turns into a fog machine. lots of smoke.... and like everything that takes up smoking, it dies early.

I really don't think I want 1000 watts, Can you recommend a good amp/sub to add some bass. I've heard a couple with around 200-300 watts driving a single 12" and it sounded good.

For 200 bucks you want a sub and amp, but maintaining sound quality. That could be difficult. Now if you can go 300 bucks total then you can go with an MTX Thunder 4202, which I think is like 280w bridged for 200 bucks. For your sub you can go with a Kicker Comp or a Kicker Comp VR. Either one would be fairly cheap, I know the comps are around 100 dollars.

Okay, I can do $300 US. I figured that for about $200 US I got a HU with cd player that does most of the work and sounds good and spending more then that for just one part of the system seemed weird but I guess thats the way it is.

What about using the MTX 12" T6124 subwoofer and MTX 4202 amp. A guy at school used all MTX and loves it, I haven't been able to hear it yet but any problems with MTX subs. Around here they are easier to find then kicker. I can get both for $430 can or about $280 US.

For the box the dimensions given (14x14x12) are they normally for the outside or the inside, I need 1-2 cu ft according to the sub specs, what will change between a 1 cuft and a 2 cuft box.

Ya, You could use the MTX. I just personally have never liked MTX's subs. Not much will really changed between 1 and 2 ft^3. You may get a little more responce from the sub out of a bigger box. And where did you get the dimensions for this box? What volume does the box say that it is at? Those dimensions you gave are more than likely going to be the outside dimensions, as thats what most other prefab boxes give.
