i got my 24's brand new in april. i have pirelli tires and they were mounted and balanced right in front of me. BUT ever since i got them once i hit about 60-70mph the wheel shimmys all to hell almost like something is seriously wrong. I just beared with it cuz i don't do alot of highway driving, but finally i took it to the shop where i bought them to have them "re-balanced" the tech said they were "way off" and i should be good to go. So left there jumped on the highway, and now it seems worse! I got a appt to go back and there gonna do it again, but i'm wondering if there is another issue..when they took my truck off the lift they seemed pretty confident in there work. i actually have called around to different shops and they say "thats normal for such a large wheel" but i don't believe that for a second, because my buddy has 30's on his H2 and it rides perfectly fine on the highway...

no i haven't yet. but it doesnt seem like needing an alignment would cause that much shimmering and shaking..

did you buy your wheels new or used?

look at your tire. there should be a red dot on it. it is suspose to be 180 degrees from the valve stem

i used to be a tire tech for rimtyme. i mounted up these type of wheels all day long

i will check that out, and yes the were bought brand new in april of this year..

Isn't rimtyme owned by RAC? Just askin cuz i work for RAC and i thought they were lol

I would check the tie rod ends which could cause the steering wheel to shake. You could also try swapping the tires front to rear to see if it makes it better or worse. I know you said it's done it since they were new, but you can also look at the tire to see if it's wearing bad from alignment/needing rotating/worn parts. If none of that stuff works I would try to find a shop that can roadforce balance them to make sure you don't have a bad tire...

if thats all correct, then pull off the wheel and look at the wheel studs. if you see a little gold clip on the wheel studs. that is what is messing you up. it doesnt allow the wheel to sit flush against the rotor. at higher speeds. your gonna feel it. also do you have tire pressure sensors?

yes it is and you should get a employee discount at a rimtyme store if there is one around you.

so if everything bmx said is fine, and i do in fact have the gold clip on the studs am i sol? btw yes i do have the tps, could that be causing an issue?

No, just pull off that clip. They are just used from the factory to hold on the rotors..

Exactly. the techs should have pulled that off. tps just makes it harder to balance. ensure that your techs know you have it

yeah they know i have it, they are the ones that pulled the sensors from the stock tires and put them in the new ones..

let us know what the outcome is

yeah i'm off wednesday, so i'll look into what you guys suggested before i take it to the shop for the balance. thanks for all the help!
