I have a 1996 2wd Explorer XLT with bad negative camber. I replaced the lower ball joints a few years ago and upper control arms last month. Both have zerke fittings so they should last longer than the truck. However, I still had serious negative camber after putting in the new control arms. The cams were already adjusted all the way out, so they went back in the same position.

Today I finally had time to do some more work. I checked the ride height and found it considerably low compared to the numbers I found here. After a lot of turning, I finally got it to 3.75, which is in the lower end of spec. It took a few more turns on the driver's side to get them even.

Using a level to get a rough estimate, I checked camber again and I've finally gotten the driver's side to zero, but the passenger side is still considerably negative, probably about 2 to 2.5 degrees.

The Explorer's OEM control arm bolts do have cams adjusters. They are maxed out on both sides of the vehicle. Just looking at online photos and at my vehicle, it doesn't seem like the aftermarket ones will adjust much farther, if any. Do any of you know how much more aftermarket adjusters will move the control arms compared to stock?

Yes, I will get a proper alignment when I get the camber issue taken care of.

They make after market adjusters that I believe go -3.5 to +3.5 deg. I want to say NAPA is who has them.

I have a set on my Mountaineer that are -2.5 to +2.5 deg that I git from Advance Auto Parts on line. If I had known about the 3.5 set at the I would have bought them.

I have only been able to find 2.25 deg sets via NAPA Online, Orielly's, AdvanceAuto, RockAuto, and Raybestos websites. Can anybody point me directly to something with greater offset?

I know I'm resurrecting my old thread, but I really need some camber adjusters with more than stock movement. I can't find any information on stock, but they look identical to the OEM style adjusters from Ingalls (Summit Racing), which are 2.25 deg. If there is anything out there with more, I need to know. I can't find any 3.5 degree adjusters that were mentioned in the first reply.

I've already jacked up the torsion bars within ride height spec, but I still have negative camber on the passenger side. I'm at zero camber on driver side. I have new upper control arms and I replaced the lower ball joints a while back. I'm assuming caster adjustment will make the camber worse, so I doubt my local shop will do the alignment job unless I can get some more adjustment out of it. I need new tires now, so I can't wait any longer to get this taken care of.
