I first want to thank those who responded to my previous thread on Glasspacks. I decided I'm going to go with the bolt-on exhaust route. I have a 98 Sport (4.0 SOHC) and I'm looking for a bolt-on exhaust system that will give me a deeper tone and increased performance. Thanks all in advance.

i love my gibson. not ricey, just a nice deep tone with nice punch and a nice growl off the line. not bad price wise either.

I have an '01 SOHC Sport & a '91 OHV Navajo, so have experience with exhausts on both.

The Navajo benefitted greatly with the addition of a Bullet muffler & 2.5" custom (not-mandrel, though) exhaust: deeper tone, noticeable performance, about 1mpg better (& this truck has 154K mi on it)

The Sport just received a 2.5" bolt-on Gibson exhaust system & I love the sound: much deeper, not too loud, definite improvement in midrange. Probably about 1mpg better also, but I tend to really put my foot into it alot cause it sounds great & really does respond better now. I avg 22mpg on a 65-75mph drive down to Hattiesburg this last weekend also, so you have best of both worlds: better performance & economy.

Just a thought: either one works great but the Bullet will need to be custom made; Gibson bolted right on

I got a 94 XLT 4.0L V6, i changed the stock muffler and put on a Cherry Bomb Turbo "Muffler", then i put a boom tube exhaust tip out the back. Any mods to the exhaust i did myself (With a bit of help).

*EDIT*
muffler was abot $50 Canadian
Extra piping was about $15 Canadian (For like two extra tubes)
and the boom tube was around $28 Canadian

And i dont reccomend this unless you can weld and bend exhaust. Also it doesnt really sound that great, then again, i still got the stock cats, which are probably plugged up.

like you could do anythign brandon :p

i have a flowmaster 40 with duals on my 91
it sounds pretty good for a v6

PEACE

Yeah, my dad helped me alot, just with the tailpipe, i used a sawzall to cut the ol muffler out though, i did that myself, and also used it to cut the tailpiped exhaust. Dad used an arch welder to weld the exhaust, even though its not ment for it, it actually worked good.

For some reason, it sounds great in drive, and crappy when i hit the gas when its idling....

Someday i want to get custom dual exhaust with chamber mufflers and performance cats.

What have you guys heard about both Bassani and Borla. Pros and cons? Again the feedback is much appreciated.

I too have a Bullet muffler and tip.. awesome quality on it. Sounds great too
