Hello everyone. I've just finished purchasing a 97 XLT 4 door, 4x4, 5-speed.

I have been browsing your forums for a while, and a good community like this was influential in my decision to get this vehicle. I had to opportunity to purchase it for a good price, with the knowledge its got some issues. At the moment, with 192k miles on it:

- Driver's door won't lock at all, inside handle doesn't do anything, outside handle is loose
- Heater doesn't work (I don't expect the A/C does either, but I'll wait till spring to deal with that)
- Clutch pedal is a little stiff. Clutch is supposed to have been replaced maybe 15-20k miles ago, so I'm hoping a little fresh fluid is all it needs.

Otherwise, it is very mechanically sound. I haven't found a single spot of rust on the exterior. The interior isn't too bad either, leather and everything! All of the electronics work as best as I can tell, too. Its even got an aftermarket sunroof which appears to work great and not leak at all.

So, over the next few weeks its my intent to try to get the little niggles worked out of it. I've already found a few helpful threads, but bear with me if I start some more. I've a veteran of other auto forums and the search button so if I start a new thread, I swear I searched first! :)

Yeah very unusual, must have been ordered that way. Usually with all those options it's be an auto but the original owner must have preferred a manual.

Looks like a good score!
