Air Conditioner error code 52

Hi all,

I had air con probems which turned out to be a vacuum leak and then the blend door actuator problem. Following some good threads on this forum I sorted them out and then ran the self test on the EATC air con. 888 means all is good, but I get a 52 code.

Does anyone have a list of codes or know what the 52 code means.

B1253 [030] (N/A) A/C in-car temperature sensor short to ground GO to DTC B1253.

B1255 [041] (043) A/C ambient temperature sensor open circuit GO to DTC B1255.

B1257 [040] (042) A/C ambient temperature sensor short to ground GO to DTC B1257.
B1261 [050] (052) A/C solar radiation sensor circuit short to ground GO to DTC B1261.

Thanks Scucci - a lot of information there althopugh not sure if I understand what a radiation sensor is.

Interesting website you included. Its been updated and is now a message (abusive) from the site owner to someone who appears to have ripped off to many downloads. Still he does give a forwarding website.

Geeze, another Ford manuals web site bites the dust. I bought mine from service-bulletins.com 3 or 4 years ago. It looks as though they are gone too.
There are still some selling on ebay.

There is a sunlight heat load sensor mounted in the eatc module. There is not much explaination of the operation. The manual says it is replaceable and has point to point tests for diagnosis.

The sunload sensor is on the black piece with the defrost vents, on the passenger side.

They're always taking the Ford manuals sites down, it's another copyright thing. It goes on until Ford finds out, then it crops up again somewhere else. It's hard to know when and where the next one comes up tho.
