I had a problem with the blend door. Went to heatertreater.net and purchased a kit. I replaced the door first, turns out it was just the motor(would have been much easier to start with the motor first!) Now after putting it all back together I have two new problems that I hope are related.
1) The air flow will not change where it blows out. It is stuck on the floor and will not move to dash or defrost. When I turn the dial, I can see the small the small arm on the passenger side of the dial interface moving back and forth.
2) There is now a squeal coming from under the hood. It almost sounds like the alternator pulley type of squeal, but it is a little more chirping sounding. And it seems to be coming from inside the air-box located right above the engine.
Neither of these problems existed before last weekend. Any input will be appreciated.

vacuum leak????!!

I am not sure how to check for a vacuum leak. Open to suggestions.

In looking up through the glove box hole, I can see what looks like a piece that is broken off of what i can guess is some thing similar to the blend door, but is located behind the middle vents. There is an vacuum control motor the has an arm that will move back and forth, but nothing is connected to the arm. I would guess that this arm should be connected to the broken piece of the door.

Open to ideas and suggestions.

That's it exactly!!

How did you fix it?
