Air intake kits

K&N site shows air intake kit 77-2573 available for 2008 4.6 Explorer. When I search for kit for my 2008 Sport Trac 4.6, it shows no kit available, only the filter itself. Is there major difference in the engine compartments, or am I reading something wrong ?

Get the K&N 63-2573 I have it on my 2009 STA and it fits great and sounds great and I gained 3-4 mpg

How is a 3-4 MPG gain possible? The stock intake outperforms the K&N up to 2800 RPM.

Its the same but don't waste your money. The stock intake is cold air. the only improvement is to remove the bumps from the inlet where it bends by using smooth tubing, and they would be miniscule if any. cold air intakes are one of the biggest rip offs out there on newer cars and trucks.

I drive my truck year round I watch the gas mileage all the time before and after the swap I seen the gain... I'm not trying to sell you on it I'm just saying what I'm seeing with my truck!

Also did a Exhaust System upgrade went with a flowmaster 40 Series Muffler - 2.50 Offset In / 2.50 Offset Out - Part #: 42543 I see a better MPG gain and felt HP/bottom end torque gain

FYI this truck sounds great with this hole set up exhaust and the k&N set up!!!!

Thanks guys. Think I'll try the Flowmaster idea first. Less expensive option that sounds like it may provide some gas mileage improvement.
