where is it? i think that's why it won't stay running everything else checks out. and i don't remember hooking one up.

On my 98 V-8 it's between the mass air sensor and the throttle body. It inserts into the side of the rubber tube which connects the two.
 












@koda.2000 might know.
 






It's the big sensor screwed into the intake manifold on the driver's side. It has two wires coming out of it.

You need to check it for 5 volts in and check resistance across the pins to see if it is working properly. But it's a cheap enough part to replace.
