Airbox mod

Instead of buying a cold air intake, I figured I'd buy a K&N and drill some holes in my air box. Where's the best place to drill the holes and how effective should this be in adding some more power? Thanks for any help.

search for air box mod and you will find many pictures. I don't think there is a set way to do it, just be drill happy.

The only important thing is that you be drill-happy only on the airbox BEFORE the filter, otherwise your engine will suck in dirty air.

First i took out the resonator, that little piece that faces the front. May be a little different for you because i have the 4.0 SOHC. THen i used a dremel and started sutting away. Sounds great and made a noticable difference.
