My XLT had never turn on the interior lights if I open the right back door....
In the other 4 doors it works ok.

Where is the switch located? it is hard to find and repair?

Regards

There is a switch inside each door, attached to the latch mechanism. There are also 2 for the tailgate latches (maybe just 1...?) and one for the rear window. Sometimes you can get them to work again by lubing them, sometimes you can't. They're easy to change (the tailgate one is harder).

Ok, the latch doesn't have the switch... I have to get it...

Do you mean it's missing? Is the wire for it there? It sits on the top of the latch and is held on by a single Phillips screw. There's a picture of it on one of the Sticky's. Mine was grey plastic.

I just figured out what an Ajax switch is... LOL

Can't find an exact part number.... rear right door...

I found the same door switch in a junkyard, from a 1996 4 door donor.

I cleaned it and I installed it... it is a freaking pain!!

But, it is working now

I have one issue less

Cheers!

It's pretty easy to change if you remove the one bolt that holds the rear window channel in. Just remove the bolt, pull down and it comes right out. A spring clip attaches it to the upper part of the channel.

Hi Phil:
If only I had known this before....

I did it only removing the 3 screws of the latch, and pushing it back, where I can see it
