Ok so I got a chatter , think its the lifters...so when I take the valve covers off what blot do I ajust and how do I ajust it? With a torc wrench to 50ft lbs?

Lifters are pretty easy, you may want to look at your manual for more specific instructions, but basically you back the rocker nut off until it just starts to chatter, then tighten it till it just stops chattering, then tighten it 1/2-3/4 of a turn. Do this while the truck is running...Pretty simple!

The bolts you torque to 50 foot pounds are the shaft mounting bolts (three per shaft). 4.0 rockers/lifters are the non adjustable hydraulic type. Lifters must be removed and repalced by removing the heads. In most cases it is only badly worn rocker arms and galled pushrods. This can be done by removing the upper intake manifold and valve covers. There is a kit available for this repair from Delta Cams
in tacoma WA.

Oh...Hmm, Ive never had the 4.0 that far apart to know they were non-adjustable...Im a chevy guy myself ;)
