i remember hearing that alabama cylinder head went out of business but couldnt find the details when i searched. according to google they are known as promaxx performance.

they say they were known previously as ACH and still make heads but i was wondering if anyone here knew the details. ie, did a big\gger company buy them out or what. basically if they can still be relied upon to make heads of the quality they used to.

i hear most people have gone with clearwater as an alternative. im just looking to replace my old ones with some stock 93tms.

A google search will reveal the details on various forums of the shop being "sold" by the owner.

My research indicates that ACH didn't make the Explorer cylinder heads they sold, nor does any other US seller, recently they all seem to source them from a manufacturer in Australia, including Clearwater. I'm not sure if the complete heads come with the same hardware from the same manufacturer, or if the individual head shops actually just buy the bare heads, then install whichever choice of parts they stock.

You can always contact the place you plan on buying from and ask for exact details on the product you're interested in buying, such as who the manufacturer is, where it's manufactured, and what involvement they have with installing any parts that are on it.

I used King Cylinder Heads in California...I have been happy and they shipped to me to rural alaska with reasonable shipping rates. I purchased 95tm heads assembled for $650 complete, including shipping, which would be $100 or so less than I paid. Competitive with others as I have seen since shipping is a b*&ch for outside 48 states.

i use engine quest.they sell 93tm, 95tm and 98tm, but the 95tm are true 95tm heads not like others that say 95-98tm which are just 98tm heads.alot of the other companys use all the same head from one manufacturer, engine quest has EQ stamped on there heads along with model number

From my research that's not a 95tm but a 98tm head.they only offer two heads, 90-94 &95-99
