Alarm system?

The X i just bought has an alarm system and i do not know anything about it. under the dash, there is a small key that says "silencer" on it. sometimes if i do not turn this key, the alarm will go off, and the car wont start. can anyone tell me what the manafacture of this alarm and where i can find some more info on it. its kind of a pain. thanks

Bring it to a reputable alarm shop and have them trouble shoot it. They will do it for a small fee.

I have them. Mine is called Fail Safe II. Yours seems to be broken, as it only works "sometimes".

speaking of the factory alarm. my friend and i accidently pulled out the wrong plug in back of my x. the little gray box by the rear whiper fluid. the plug we wanted was on the right side. anyways...when we went to plug it back in. my horn and lights off like crazy...i hit panic button...that didnt work...and i tried starting my x....it wouldnt start...so we quickly unplugged it and everything went silent again. so yeah its been unplugged since then...i can't use my keyless entry and panic and what not.

so with that all said, does anyone know how i can fix this problem?

i was thinking of disconnecting my battery terminals to see if that would work, but i havent really worried about it too much lately...
