I have a 1996 Explorer with constant alignment issues. A shop told me that my car will never have appropriate alignment without some special brackets to assist in correcting this problem. Is this common or is he trying to rob me? I don't know much about Explorers to know if this is BS. Thanks.

Is it a camber correction kit that I need?

Yes. You need it if you aren't at stock height. Cost about $25 per wheel side.

It doesn't matter if the vehicle has been modified or not, if the alingment can't be pulled into spec, you will need to install the camber kits.
