Well the story is that my son is racing more motocross and I thought I would buy a new truck to make it easier that hooking up a trailer every time we go riding. Well they offered peanuts for my Explorer and I just could not do it as I have taken excellent care of her. I really like it a lot as it is equiped with some nice upgrades. So I decided to keep her for a few more years. It is a 4.6 limited 4x4 with tow package and the 3:73 gearing really pulls a 7k trailer through the Smokie Mountains and has gotton me home safe. So now that I saved about 30k (new trucks are crazy expensive now a days) I did some upgrades to keep her fresh. I did new Nitto crosstrecks 255/65/17 ,Alpine dvd navigation, magnaflow cat back and a complete detail which I did the clay bar on the outside and polish then wax to protect it. I feel I have a new SUV now. It just hit 108k and I did all the fluids and a complete service So I spent a few grand but saved a whole lot of cheese. She has been very good to me.

Great decision...

Not because it's an Explorer, but because if nothing was wrong with it, keeping something you're familiar with and saving money is always a plus...

I have now decided to add a sound system to keep up on the freshing up . I ordered a JL stealh box with the 10w3v3 sub and deciding on a JL Hd or Apline PDX amp. These new amps make more power than older ones and are half the size I am blown away by these little amps. Mids and Hi's will most likely be Hertz Hi energy's since I like lots of mid bass and listing to drums.

i have a stealthbox in my ex for the past 4-5 years and its great...i powered it up with a rockford fosgate amp...its pricey but worth it...plus it saves your cargo space...great buy
