Aloha from the 50th state!

I am the proud owner of a 1997 Aerostar which is for lugging my 10' surfboard around so no matter where I am, if the waves are up, I am on it! It has a 3.0 motor single into one turbo muffler and mustang rims, 16's up front and 17" bullits out back! I bought and old Sport Aerostar and used the running boards to make it look better (unfortunately the donor car didn't have the right rear molding, DAMN) but I am looking to perk up the performance and mileage if it is possible. Has anyone ever utilized the Explorer 5 spd auto in an Aerostar? How about exhaust headers? I would appreciate any input anyone can provide!
