Anybody have one of these? Looks like a cool HU. I've been told the SQ beats all older Alpine units. I think I may give one of these a try.

it looked like a good HU, i almost bought it, but bought the JVC KD-LH3000 instead....

Within the next couple weeks I'll be buying this. I get a new HU each year and this looks like the one!

Well being the Alpine nut that I am, all I can say is good choice. Seems like it is the top of the line in mid range HU's. I went to Alpines's site and read on it and it has some great stuff. It is like my HU that you can go to ALpine's site, log in, and set your settings through there web and them download it to a disk and have the settings forever. That is a nice feature that most HU's don't offer. Plus, you just can't go wrong with Alpine. They have been making quality components for years and are very good with customer service and problems if needed.
Good luck with your new toy, I am sure you won't be disappointed.

Yes I have a CDA-7894 right now. Very good HU but this newest one looks just amazing. The black and white is kinda weird but since Alpine made it it's probably really cool. What I'm hoping is there are presets you can download. It would be awesome if it showed the top downloads. Then I'd know what to choose for best SQ.

Well I haven't seen any type of preset because you have to measure the distance of each speaker to make all of the settings accurate. But I know what you are talking about like the EQ part. But that would also vary due to different vehicles with different amps and speakers, so to find 2 alike would be a tough job.

The black and white is definately a change.

Wow turns out I can use the iPersonalize with the HU I have right now also! I'm gonna do that. I'm still getting the 9835 soon though. Alpine is such a cool company!

Alpine recently moved it's manufacturing plant to Mexico. Hopefully this will not bring down quality.
