Has anyone here had experience with the ALPINE TYPE-S SPS-570A speakers? I was going to buy some, but I want to make sure they are clear and are able to get loud. I have ALOT of bass (more coming with 4 12s and 2 1000 watt amps), and need something to keep up with it. I want them to be clearly audible, withouyt sacrificing my bass. Will these be a good start?

I was planning on running some of these speakers in my doors, getting a set of kick panel speakers (along with the explorer express kick panels) running thru an old Alpine MRV F250 amp, and 4 tweeters (1 in each pillar). I also want to put sound/rattle dampening in all the doors, as well as in the cupholder (Im trying to figure out a way to do this, but I cant seem to. Any help would be appreciated), and maybe behind/around the radio bezel. With that, and the 4 12s, I hope to have a good show quality system, but still be able to drive it daily.

All my OEM door speakers have been replaced with ALPINE SPS-570A 5x7s. My HU puts out 27 wrms/ 60 wmax per channel and they sound real good. Surprisingly my subs (10" Alpine Type R pushed by 1200 watts) don't drown them out.

As for your cupholder dampening Q, just use a rubber mat style dampener. I'll use dynamat original as an example. Cut out a circle, place on bottom. Measure circumference and height of cupholder, cut a strip to this spec. Place cut strip around the inside. Viola! Magical dampened cupholder :)

The doors are the same thing on a bigger level, you can either deaden anything and everything in there that doesn't move, ie locks/windows. Or just put a layer on the innermost metal part of the door panel. Make sure it's either a lil hot out or you have a heat gun for maximum adhesion.

My friend has Type S all the way around running an alpine hu in his x, and they sound great! I am also thinking about getting them as well. He also has 2 15" Treos (not that they are outstandingly loud) but they do not get drowned out by the bass at all

Alright thanks for all the answers. Looks like ill be ordering those next time i get paid =). When I install them, do I have to do anything but wire them up to the wires already there. Im taking out other aftermarket speakers that where professionaly installed and replacing them with these, so it shouldnt be that big a deal. I dont have to unhook the battery or anything to worry about blowing them. SOmeone told me I have to because they blew there amp out, but after going over it in my mind I beleive thats cause the amp has electricity. Sound waves arnt electricity so I should have a problem right?
Dave Im gonna do that, but I dont mean the actual cupholder. I mean the area around it with both cupholders, change tray, etc. As for heat, I live in HBouston TX. Getting heat isnt the problem round here. Getting rid of it is =)

You shouldnt have to unplug it, but just in case, i would. Better safe than have to buy a $80 off ebay or something because a freak accident happend and it fried. If the speakers were professionaly installed you should just have to unplug them and slap the new ones in. They either have the adapters from the ford sound system to the acual speakers, or they just cut the adapter off and ran the wire straight to the speaker, so in either case you should be fine.

yea they where wired straight to the speaker I think (from watching them take one out when it blew). I dont think it should be a big deal, but imma go ahead and disconnect anyways. BTW, im getting those speakers for 60 a pair off a website. If I can post it I will so maybe someone else can get some deals to. I jus dunno if im allowed to

Got mine off FinestDeals on eBay for $130 shipped. Either way still better than the $79/pair crutchfield wants!! Good selection, you'll be happy w/ them!

I have all four in my doors, and they sound great. All though if I were going to amp them,I would get the Type R's instead of Type S because they handle more power. Also I have 2 12" Kicker Solobaric Subs pushing out a total of 2400 watts and believe it or not it sounds great with these Alpine's.I would rewire all four doors though to get a clearer sound thorughout everything.Goodluck with them
