Alright Starting To Get Ticked Off!!!!!....

Alright well i had the people order the things i need to FINALLY get my stereo installed....so i got it all wired up and its Still not the right thing...the black square peice that came out of the stock stereo isn't the same as the one that i got from the store.....so here are some pics.....first is the two compared...the one on the left came from the store the one on the right came out of the stock radio.....the second one is the bag that the harness came in....and it sayes premium system...and last is a picture of the amp in my rear hatch......and i have a last question is that on the door of the hatch the left vent looking thing at the bottom is filled in and the right one is open looking...but i havn't ever heard a bass sound so i was just wondering if that's normal

count the pins before you go to the store again. the adapter you bought is an 8 pin connector and it looks like your stereo is a 16 pin plug. that should help in getting the right one

I went to two local stores to get the proper harness for my limited. They both gave me the wrong harnesses so I just bit the bullet and adapted the wrong one by adding all my own speaker wires.

Now Im running a 2nd set of speaker wires for my components so that if I ever want to take those out I can just plug in the stockers

Try getting a harness from walmart. I got one for my 02 a few weeks ago and it had four different plugs on it one of which looked like what you need It had two for the power side and two for the speaker side. They were wired so that you used the connector you needed for power and for speakers and the other two is just there unused with a cap inside of it. I know yours is a 2nd gen. but the harness fit a wide range of years. The harnesses sold here are made by schosche (sp?). Check out the link below, found that on cardomain.

What people don't know is. There are 3 different harnesses for the all years Explorers and Rangers. So it's hard to know what one you need.

The one you need should have a flat gray one and a square green one.

finally got everything in..after a LONGGGGG time haah...but it was worth it...now i need to upgrade my subs/amp/and door speakers....here we go!!!
