I plan on getting some aux backup lights sometime. However, here is something that I did and it works great, really improved the brightness!Dead Link Removed

If you just solder the two filaments together on a 3157 and put in place of the 3156 in your backup bulb it is soo much brighter. Fits great!

fantastic idea!

I may do that in addition. Me like blight light!

just make sure you're not creating excessive heat by doing that. I've heard of reverse light housings being melted by high-wattage bulbs. Essentially, you're creating one high wattage bulb out of 2 filaments.

I tried this idea. It did not look so bright. The second filament is only 7watts while. the primary filament is 27 watts. I did not notice much of a difference when soldering and trying it out. It is better buying those 50watt wedge bulbs and putting them on.
