alternator disassembly

I have the alternator off my 92 Ex to replace the bearings, due to an odd and loud sound. My problem is I cannot seem to get the nut on the pulley off. I have tried WD 40, and brute strength. Arer there any tips or tricks for this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Put the alt back on the truck...The belt will hold it tight while you take off the nut, or use a bench vice if you have one, or take it to a place that rebuilds them and they will probably pull it off for a six pack.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try to loosen it with the alt in the engine.

Put the alt on the bench and take an impact gun to the nut. It will spin right off. (you can hold the pulley with your hand)
