Okay here's the problem
91 Explorer... dashboard battery light came on and battery died out
I had a spare alternator from my 94 so I installed it, battery light still on, no charge to battery.
Took original alternator to Autozone and it failed the test, purchased new alternator thinking my spare could be bad as well.
Went home, installed brand new alternator and same results.
Thus far,
Battery cables appear to be good, all wires plugged tightly into alternator
white single wire on alternator appears to be at about .2 volts
yellow 0 volts
white black- 0 volts
green- same as big wire on alternator, ranging from 11-9 when battery was draining
Any suggestions on tracking this down?
Thanks in advance. Tried the search, didn't see anything relevant.
