Problem resolved. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and help.

I found that the orange/purple wire was melted going through the fire wall. This wire was the one coming from fuse #26. I found that two other wires were melted to it which one was a 12 volt hot. I seperated them and a little E-tape and Problem resolved.

Well...all right then! So it was backfeeding through that circuit? That is the only thing that made sense to me when you told us pulling that fuse cured it.

Now, what made it melt? That's an even more important problem.

It was the reverse lights grounding out. On the rear driverside tail light harness I have a factory conector that had a single black wire running down near the tow hitch. It was along the tow/trailer harness. It was grounding out on the frame. Once I removed the wire(from the factory single wire connector, right under the tail light) and trashed it,the reverse lights started working. I have no clue why they would tap into the reverse lights but they did. It was exterior of the vehicle too. The reverse lights run of that circuit which caused it to overload. Oh Ya one big reason for this going bad was that it had a 20amp fuse in it. It should of only been a 10amp. The fuse was melted when I first found it. If it had a 10 the fuse would have just blown instead.

Usually, if you find wires tapped into the reverse circuit like that, it was for a rear camera or navigation system. Sounds like they may have removed one and left it half assed, eh?

Very good investigating work. The 20 amp fuse being wrong would be hard to notice given the 35 in the box.
