Recently I had my brake dust cover rusted off, so when I crawled under to see the positioning and shape of the other one for reference when buying one, I noticed a bit of a discrepancy when looking around. Look at the pictures for comparison: in one picture, the black bar is there to the left of the strut and fastened by a bolt and nut at the top, but in the second picture where that black bar should be, there isn't anything.

EDIT: pics came out HUGE in the forum post, so I simply provided links. Also, I am sorry about the rotation. Damn image uploaders...

Yep. You are missing your anti-sway bar end link. You're best to replace them both...replace one and the other will break in short order. They aren't expensive.

How the hell did that even happen??

Just bought those K700542's. Only about $36 for both kits.

If anything, the brake hose fittings appear ready to fail. I think you and everyone will agree, stopping should be a priority.

Defiantly. Thanks a lot, man. I'm just a college kid who bought this truck with my own money. I paid $3100 with 109,000 miles. I've already got ball joints in work wise. I just need it to get me through 5 years of engineering school.

At least you don't have a strut based suspension. When the spring seat rusts through on those and the body falls onto the tire when traveling at good speed, the outcome isn't pretty.

To post a smaller pic from Imgur in a forum you can scroll down on the Imgur link page to the "Sizes" box, in it click "Large Thumbnail", then copy the "Linked BBCode" and paste that directly into your post.

Was only the passenger side end link replaced? First pic is definitely a stock end link. Or you meant they were ordered TODAY.

Just bought those today my bad! And had my truck inspected. Those brake hose fittings are about to go but everything else seems to be at least holding up. Apparently everything is just going to be a PITA to work on. Luckily I only plan on keeping this car through college. So I think it can last five years without anything going terribly wrong.

Anyways I sprayed those brake hose fittings with rubber sealant and bed liner. I think they should hold up pretty well. I'm gonna keep an eye on them for dampness

Update: Installed the MOOG parts today and she drives like a dream!

Did you put the bolt in from above with the nut on the bottom? That way if it fails, just the nut and lower bushing falls away and not the whole link assy.
Nut on top lets the whole thing drop out if it fails and possibly damage something as it clangs around your undercarriage. Small tip I got when I did my endlinks.

I dunno, I want to hear what 1997XLTRollover has to say.
