ok i got my X back in Sept and it came with a aftermarket head unit(sumone choped the heak out of the wiring harness). The front 2 speakers are wired up to the head unit with what looks like speaker wire.Looks to me they couldnt get power from the stock speaker wire harness.Maybe they didnt know what the heck they were doing??

Now that i have 2 speakers in my front doors i go to look in my back 2 doors and no speakers? Were did they go?? Are there supose to be speakers in there?

If so what size goes in there?
I hear everyone talking about stock subs in there X's,did they come stock if so what years did they come in?Just a little wondering i was doing!

PS. My goal is to get the steoro wiring back to using the stock crap and nt house speaker wire.I wish i knew how to post pics..lol

Yes there should be two speakers in the back doors. The factory size is 6x8. Most after market speakers are 5x7/6x8. They will fit. You can find actual 6x8's but there are fewer choices and they tend to cost more.

yea thats what i kinda of thought..i got the truck from some idiot that thought he knew what he was talking about..he tryed to tell me that i didnt need a heater by-pass vavle and that he just used to pieces of tube to connect the heater lines...i started laughing and just left with the truck..lol

Yea, he probably did the speaker wiring, because he didnt know he needed a simple "Amp Bypass" harness :D

2 speakers up front, 2 in back. (I think the back doors have 2 slots each for speakers, but only 1 has the little spacer adapter)

were can i find the AMP BYPASS harness at?I wanna try to get it back to the stock wiring

The old owner may not be as big an dummy as you think. If I was going to us the deck power on an aftermarket deck. I WOULD run new speaker wire from the deck to each speaker. I would NOT use a bypass. I would eliminate as much of the factory crap as possible. Also my guess is that the old owner had replaced the rear speakers, but removed them before he sold it an did not keep the factory one to put back in. Rear speakers are not needed, nice to have for rear passengers but required. I have run a few different setups in different cars that did not have rear speakers.

I don't use rear speakers myself. I spend the money on the best front speakers I can buy. I don't ride in the back.

Yeah but you sit closer to the rear speakers than you do to the front.

True, but that doesn't mean it is best for sound. For example, when you go to a live show. Do you face the band (speakers in the front) or do you turn your back to the band (speaker in the back)?

Wouldn't that have to do with seeing the show? :D
