I bought it today. Are there any write up's on how to do this? If not, could someone just tell me how? I'll install and take pictures and put up a writeup if it hasn't already been done, thanks..

Mine was just a bunch of wires with harnesses on each end, and it came with very good instructions. It was from Crutchfield.

Anyway, the HU end is easy enough, just plug it in. Then run the wires behind the dash, under the door sill plate, then behind the cargo area panel to the amp. I have to almost fully remove that panel to be able to get to the amp, and the instructions showed were every screw was. The only hard thing was having to remove the seat belt bolts, I didn't have the T40 and T50 driver bits that they were.

All in all, a simple project. Not hard, but just PITA due to the time involved and dealing with the huge interior panel.

If you got the Metra one, take it back. Call up crutchfield. Shipped it's 13.95. It gives you instructions of how to take off the rear panel, then all you do is disconnect both ends of the factory amp, and plug them into the harness. Takes 10 minutes. The Metra is a PITA.

This is a tutorial for installing a JL stealthbox, but the first few steps are the same, involving removing the back panel. You can see from the pics the small bit of labor involved. Not much though. At step four, with the pic of removing the amp, you'll just place your amp bypass there. Since the connections are different at both ends you should have no problem figuring out what goes where.

You'll need a panel trim remover and a Torx Screwdriver head for the rear seatbelt. I forget if it's 50 or 15 though. If you break any of those round plastic clips, you simply buy a whole bag of 'em at Ford for $11.
