Leenjen or other audophiles...

I want to mount a Lightning Audio Bolt B.300.4 50W x 4 Car Amplifier in my 99 4 door XLT.

I want to mount under the rear passenger side seat. Do you think this will work? The size of the amp is 13-7/8"W x 2-1/4"H x 11-1/8"D ,

Other ideas welcome. Must not take any cargo/[assenger space nor be visible.

I am open to all suggestions.

Thanks.....

I have my powerful amp which pushes my 15in sub under the rear seat so i can take advantage of my AC unit back there. That amp gets real hot after a day of deafening music so i made a duct system that blows cold AC air onto my amp to help cool things down a bit.

My second amp which pushes my highs is also out of sight is mounted in the rear cargo area where the factory amps on most explorers are. Behind the paneling. There is plenty of room back there for an amp.

I'm not exactly sure how the intererior works on new Xs, but i had an idea for mounting my amp in my 1st gen. I figured that since i never fold th seats in the back down, i'd create kind of a false back on the seat to cover up the amp that would ultimately be mounted to the real seatback. It'd be a big improvement from mounting it on the speaker box where i currently have it.
Just a thought. I'll let you know if i ever follow through with it.

it should definatly work...ive got my rockford fosgate 500.2 under there and it fits great....you can see pics on my site, click the link in my signature

Hey AQexplorer,
Your set up looks (and I be sounds) great.
One question: Does your seat still fold down? I was measuring my seat today in my 95 for my newly purchased Rockford Fosgate 400s, and there doesnt appear to be room to allow the seat to fold.
Thanks

i have my amp mounted on the back of the rear seats. it is mounted to the folding flap so when u lay dow the seats it is easily accesable and it works great

I ended up moving mine into that cargo area where the tire iron and jack is. Since my amp isn't humongous it fits fine. I then cut a hole in where that piece attatches an ran all my wire underneat my carpet and through the hole. You only see the wires going from the amp to the speakers. Next i plan on rigging up a small fan (probably out of a PC) to the amp so it doesn't get too hot back there.

I mounted the amp for my sub right on the sub box. Used quick disconnects so I can remove the whole thing in about 30 seconds if I need to haul something or leave my truck in long term parking at the airport.
