hey everyone. today i decided to do a project of setting up a pa system for the truck. i have a question about what to put on the remote lead on the power amp. i know how to hook up everything else, but what exactly does the remote need to be hooked up to? is it just a change in voltage to show your receiver is "on"? can i just hook up a small switch that cuts power on and off to the remote to switch on and off the amp? thanks everyone!

Yes. It is a 12volt on off switch, when it is getting 12volts the amp is on, when no voltage, amp is off. You can hook it to a switct. It will pull a very low current.

so could i just put 1/2 amp fuse for a wire going to the remote lead? would that be plenty of amperage for that? thanks for the quick responses!!

I am honestly not sure what size amp most remote wires run with. I would have to check. 1/2 amp sounds like enough but it may not be.

1/2 it is then! :D now comes the fun part. i'll let you know how it turns out

thanks! works great. nice and LOUD!! now i gotta figure out where to put the pa speaker on the outside of the explorer... any ideas?

just find a place unter the hood out of the way. When I had one on my ranger I put it on the inner fender just over the wheel. Be carefull who is around when you use it too. I almost got arrested once :D
