My 6x8s are just running off my HU right now (Alpine 9835) and I was wondering if amplifying them would make a significant difference in the way they sound right now. After all, they are just door speakers. Would it be worth it to buy a 4 channel for them?

It made a big difference for me going from a 22w x4 HU to a pair of 100 x 2 amps.... As long the speakers will take the wattage good I'd say go for it.

yeah that is the way to go.
Significant diferance.
I have a 4-ch running my two door speakers and my two rear speakers.
I have a second amp for the sub.

It is a night and day difference. An amp as small as 30x4 will be a HUGE improvement over ANY head unit amp.

Ok guys thanks.

and then amped components will make an even bigger difference. mine are only getting 80x4 and they are super loud and clear

Fish Man, what component speakers are you running? Did you go component front and rear?

puffen, im running autotek 5.25's and MA 6.5's. they are all in the front...the 5.25's are in q logic kick panels with the 6.5's in the doors. rear is factory spekers powered off the head unit
