This is when I may want to rethink buying this Explorer. The other day I am coming home from work and the stupid truck loses power. I put my foot on the gas but the truck won't respond and starts shaking instead. Of course I get all upset and flustered because it's rush hour traffic. I get off at my exit and at every stop the truck wants to stall. I went to the dealership and guess what??? Nothing is wrong of course! They said nothing is wrong take it home it's fine. It hasn't done this since but I am now afraid it will leave me stranded somewhrere. This is really pathetic coming from a BRAND NEW vehicle. NEVER have I had a problem with ANY of my GM's (even at 120000 miles)
I’m surprised that they didn’t take longer to check it. I can bet you anything I would have had them keep it over night and do a complete check of the vehicle. I don’t know how the system records problems but it may be in there.
I can see why your angry because a new vehicle almost died on you. I would hound them to find out what it might be. Can you remember if there was anything that acted weird before or after. This may allow people to help you pinpoint it so you can take it into the dealership.
I don’t think the new explorers are up to the same quality of the older explorers. But then again the 95 explorer supposedly has tons of issues, but mine has never seen one. 130k miles on this 11 year old SUV and I would completely trust it cross country.
GM vehicles are no picnic either. Our Isuzu has been in for the shop twice for the inside ceiling be Velcro'ed (WTF) and falling down. GM in there great wisdom thinks Velcro works better than glue. Well after the second time back its glued back up there now
