There is an squeak that comes from the front passenger side of my truck. It only does it when its cold, goes away as truck gets warmer. It stops when truck is at a stop but gets louder as u drive faster. Im thinking maybe fanbelt or hubs?? any suggestions. i know it has nothin to do with the suspension

My first post.

Same problem with my 2001 SportTrac, 38K miles, and seems to be passenger side too.
High pitched squeal that occurs only when it is cold, seems speed related. Almost sounds like a vacuum leak, or belt/pulley.

Thought it may be brake pads but using brakes doesn't seem to affect noise.
I'll keep you posted on what I find out.

Going to local Ford dealer tomorrow... another problem has cropped up this weekend. Slow, lazy shift from 2nd to 3rd. Over revs if you are accelerating hard. 28-40MPH range.
Weird thing is I was driving in 4WD HI several times last week due to snow and ice around here. Don't know if the two are related.
