well i have a stock 1998 4.0l eddie
i want to upgrade the air intake system i was wondering if you guys think its work the exstra money to get the whole system or just the part after the MAF.

Will i really feel/hear that much difference between the two. I live in Alaska where it seems like its cold all the time (winter like 9 out of 12 months) so i dont "think" i need any kind of heat shield but i look forward to hear from you guys.

p.s. this is the best explorer forum site around

I just got the cone part from Kurtz Kustomz (KKM). I remember reading when I was about to purchase that some people didn't think the entire tube assembly was even worth it. I wanted to save some money, so I went with the cone only, and it's been fine for me.

I have the "ebay" special which is a KKM clone. Works fine for me. Search ebay for "Explorer intake" and its going to be the auctions with the MAF adapter and filter. You will need to make a mount out of scrap metal...like so. Here is mine. $20 shipped
