So over at syncmyride's community forums a user posted a question:

"Is there any software to change the center screen between the tachometer and speedometer to a digital read out? its hard to see your speed."

To which a user replied:

"There is no way to make it do it all the time, but you can hold down the left OK button on your steering wheel when starting the car, hold it for about ten seconds or so, and it will come up to an engineering test menu, and if you keep flipping through the different pages one of the displays is a digital speed readout. But, you would have to hold down OK everytime the car is turned on to get it to do that."

I tried it and it didn't seem to work. Anyone else wanna try it out and see if they can get to this engineering menu?

It depends on what cluster you have, the base or optionals. Heres the instructions below (Note: For information purposes only, copyright Ford Motor Company)

Dealer Test Mode

To enter the IPC self-diagnostic mode, begin with the ignition in the OFF mode. Press and hold the RH steering wheel switch OK button (optional IPC) or the LH steering wheel switch OK button (base IPC). Place the ignition in the ON mode and hold the button until the display indicates ENGINEERING TEST MODE, usually within 3 to 5 seconds. Press the up or down arrow buttons to navigate through each of the display windows. To exit the IPC self-test mode, press and hold the OK button for 3-5 seconds or place the ignition in the OFF mode. The dealer test mode displays multiple items in a viewing window on the RH side of the IPC. Each button press advances the viewing window to the next set of items.
NOTE: Some of the displays listed in the table below use x..'s to represent a numeric or alphanumeric value. The value may display the same amount of characters represented by the x..'s or there may be more/less depending on the type of display. For example: DTC HIST CURR xxxxxx x x may display DTC HIST CURR C10000 X. Note that there were 8 x's in the display description but only 7 digits in the actual display.
NOTE: The table below lists the displays as they appear when navigating using the down arrow button.

Interesting! Thanks for sharing, I'll try holding down the right OK button and see what it does!
