I just replaced the the egr position sensor last week. and my CEL went off (for a week) until today. I was merging onto a highway and had to give it all she had to get out. when I hit about 80 mph the light came on and stayed on for a few minutes then went off. for the rest of the trip (1hour) the light came on and off the entire way, and not it is doing the same thing w/ city driving now that I'm back in town. I did a self check and I got 111 for KOEO. I don't know how to do it with engine running. anyone have any clues as to what this problem could be?

can anyone lead me in the right direction? or tell me how to do a KOER check by myself.

I'm told that Advanced Auto/Pep boy etc. do free trouble code readings but don't know if that is so. Here is a link that shows something about doing a generic Ford test. Search engine on the web brought up lots of such links.

111 is the pass code.

Plug the scanner in, turn on the engine, turn on the scanner, set the scanner to test, when it says 10 run inside the vehicle, push the throttle all the way then hit the brake real quick. Get back out and watch the code(s).

I don't have a scanner, I just counted the engine light blinks, is that what I do with a Engine running?

See tests at www.dalidesign.com/hbook/eectest.html Did you get 111 for both the KOEO codes and the CM codes?? Where the CEL came on during normal operation, I would really have expected there to be some kind of trouble code (other than 111) in memory.

Wow.. you counted 111 blinks? I guess that's what you do.

well, I never cleared it yet since I put in the new egr position sensor, so those where still there. 327,332,335.... in the CM. I'll work on the running test later on tonight maybe.

and I didn't count 111 blinks, it was three

Ha, I feel stupid. right after I typed the codes in the last post I got to wondering and did a double take at that new sensor I put in.....the hose in the back came off at the bottom, I didn't catch that at first! I guess it was loose enough that when I floored all the way to 80+mph it pushed it off. I drove it around the block and seems to be fine. Thanks for the help anyway ya'll.
