Hi--
Was wondering if anyone here may have the answer to this....I'm currently trying to figure out why my rear passenger window has stopped working. I logged in yesterday and was pleasantly surprised when at the top of the list, there was a long thread about this exact subject. However, my vehicle's symptoms are slightly different. Different enough that someone with my inexperience in electrical gremlins has hit a wall, anyway. (And I didn't want to hijack anyone's thread). Here goes:
Passenger side rear window is non-functional from both the master switch at the driver's door, as well at the switch on the rear passenger's door. All other controls on the driver's door master switch (ie all other windows, locks, lockout function) work properly and are illuminated. Close inspection of wires running from both driver's and rear passenger's door into jambs reveals no signs of breakage. Rear passenger window motor does work fine, as I jumped it with power from the battery and it functions perfectly. So at least it's up for now.
My main question is whether I can rule out the master switch as the source of the problem or not, due to the fact that I am getting power to all other windows from that switch. Is it possible for there to be a problem, at that switch, that would break the circuit and render it inoperable from both switches, front and rear on one window only? I am assuming an issue with the rear switch wouldn't cause a problem at the master switch..??
At my mileage, etc., I'm staying out of the dealership with this. If anyone has any other ideas, I'm willing to try any of them...
