Another tranny question

How much better were the newer A4LD trannys? When did they change (year) and are they a direct swap? Would it be better to locate a newer A4LD and possbily upgrade it using what Glacier did, and put that in when the stock tranny goes?

*edit* also, would getting an aftermarket tranny cooler help the life of the tranny?

I know the aftermarket tranny cooler is a great idea...I have two inline coolers

Don't know it there is such a thing as a newer A4LD. Some of the aftermarket replacement parts were improved, but the A4LD remained the same thru '94. In '95 it was replaced by the 4R55E - a slightly upgraded and electronic version of the A4LD.
